By the Sea

The rolling rhythm of the sea
Still sings its soothing harmony
Upon the rocks crescendos crash
Creating sprays that gently splash.

The Briny air chimes that I'm home
Beside the ebb and flow of foam
Along the endless stretch of shore
It saturates, fills every pore.

The seagulls soar so gracefully
Above a sun-flecked tapestry
Of undulating gray and blue
From days of old yet always new.
The sanderlings dash to and fro
Delightful is their feathered show
As with the ocean they play tag
In hopes a tasty meal to snag.

We stroll the shoreline's velvet sand
Enjoying, sharing, hand in hand
So far removed from churning srife
That is the bane of city life.
Perhaps one day right here we'll stay
Between the ocean and the bay.

The Masterpiece

The canvas brushed with life-like hue
Can make me bid today adieu;
I travel back to years long past
To carefree days that went too fast.

Along the shore in fair Cape May
I frolic in the ocean spray
In simpler times of long ago
Those gleeful ones that children know.
I build grand castles make of sand
Enchanted by this magic land
Of crashing waves and briny foam
That chimes a tune that I am home.

The artist brings a world to me
Of innocence and revelry
A masterpiece of days sublime
That I can visit anytime.

Memories on Canvas

Between my toes I sense the shifting sand
I deeply drink the shoreline's salty air;
Each stroke created by artistic hand
Recalls those simpler times beyond compare

The stress of cleaving care is washed away
I sail serenely on a sea of dreams
Arrving on the coast of fair Cape May
Nostalgia floods my soul in constant streams.

The graceful gulls cavort in skies of blue
As dancing sunlight plays upon each crest
God's majesty bursts forth in vivid hue
Upon the canvas and my soul is blessed.

Enchanting seaside memories designed
Exquisitely are captured in my mind.

Sandcastles

The ocean plays its rythm soft and low
And floods my soul again with peacefulness
Transporting me to shores of long ago
On cresting waves of joy and happiness.
I drink in memories of childhoood
Immerse myself in innocence and glee
In carefree days where it was understood
Imaginaion ruled reality.
Grand castles made of sand housed ladies fair
And gallant knights were always close at hand
To battle dragons, banish every care
Preserving honor far across the land.

Awash in swells nostalgic I can find
Those magic times again that were so kind.

My Fair Seaside

The jutting cliffs above the sea
The velvet sands along the shore
Are calling me, they beckon me
To come again, to come once more.

The graceful gulls that soar above
The salty spray, the lapping tide
It's all that I've been dreaming of
...To see again my fair seaside.

The gentle rhythm of your waves
Your vast expanse...it humbles me
Your majesty, my heart, enslaves
Yes, I'll come once more to the sea.

The velvet sands along the shore
The jutting cliffs above the sea
Are calling me to come once more
They're calling still; they beckon me.

Your Majesty

I linger there upon your shore
And long to linger evermore
And gaze forever at your sea
Such captivating majesty.

Your rolling waves crash on the rocks
And dance about your weathered docks;
Gulls swoop and soar above each crest
Inviting me to dream, to rest.

Your 'Lovely Ladies' line each street
And charm the hearts of all they meet
And bid them graciously to stay
Abide beside the ocean spray.

I long to gaze upon your sea
Such captivating majesty
Upon your shore I long to stay
Forever, always, fair Cape May.
