Upon
My Face
You
saw the sorry state of man
The
punishment he faced
In
pity you devised a plan
Sin's
debt Your blood erased.
Upon
my face I seek You, Lord
Your
servant in disgrace
Your
Word 'tis true a mighty sword
Heart
pierced I seek Your grace.
So
quick to judge, forgiveness slow
This
heart please cleanse, I pray
Your
gentle love help me to show
To
all along my way.
Too
much my mind dwells on myself
For
fading things I lust
Too
long Your book sits on my shelf
Collecting
webs of dust.
Refreshing
Spring please satiate
This
parched and barren land
Restore
again that blissful state
Bestowed
by Your own hand.
O,
Sovereign God, Exhalted King
Before
Your throne I bow
Forevermore
my soul shall sing
The
mercies You endow.

I
Am Persuaded
Against
Your servant, Lord, who can prevail;
What
thing can separate me from Your grace?
I
am persuaded that You cannot fail;
You've
set a seal that nothing can erase.
I'm
safe within Your arms forevermore
And
hell itself cannot destroy my soul
For
You've devised a plan that will endure;
You'll
bring me safely home for that's Your goal.
No
Principality can loose Your hold
Created
beings, none, need my heart fear;
No
present circumstance nor ones of old
Or
yet to be can change Your love, that's clear.
The
finished work of Christ can't be undone
Yes,
once for all, He died, salvation's won.

The
Past Is Done
The
past is done as you have said
But
still it plays within your head
To
rob you of all joy and peace
To
hold you fast with no release
But
think on this, He's always there
To
take your burden and your care
-He
saw it all when on that cross
To
cleanse us from all filth and dross
Just
think on Him, how much He gave
When
phantoms once again enslave
Just
tell them that you have a friend
Who'll
not forsake you in the end
And
tell them plainly to get lost
Because
for you He paid the cost.

A
Thousand Years
A
thousand years to Him are but a day
Not
bound as we by mere constraints of time;
The
present, past and future they all play
As
one their perfect harmonies sublime.
The
Lord of all doth see with perfect eyes
Alas,
we mortals but with jaundiced view;
Within
His arms the soul can rhapsodize
In
Ancient's song that ever will be new.
"Fear
not", He says, "I come to you in peace;
I've
paid your debt, receive this priceless gift;
Believe
on Me, your soul shall find release;
My
song of love can heal the deepest rift."
O,
Prince of Peace, a symphony you bring
Discordant
once, Your praises now I sing.

Heaven's
Song
A
babe for us was born of humble birth
In
stable crude He came in lowliness
God's
special gift for all the sons of earth
His
favor shown to man in graciousness.
His
coming told by prophets long ago
So
fervantly they longed to see His day
Messiah,
Son of God, sent to bestow
Salvation
free to those in error's way.
Hosannas
to the King was heaven's song
'Neath
Bethlehem's star-sprinkled velvet sky
Still
ages past angelic beings long
To
comprehend redemption from on high.
Receive
His gift, it came at quite a cost;
His
life He paid to seek and save the lost.
~
For
unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given
And
the government shall be upon His shoulders
And
He shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting
Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah
9:6

Whew!
That's A Relief!
He
carved them on the tablets made of stone
A
glimpse of holiness ~ His measure shown
To
teach us that there isn't anyone
Who's
righteous in His sight except the Son.
Perfection,
nothing less, the Law demands
A
burden and a curse are its commands
To
keep them all yet fail in only one
You
break the whole and prove yourself undone.
He
came to us a light unto the earth
To
tell us of God's love and of our worth;
His
life fulfilled the Law, He broke not one
Lamb
slain for all; the curse has been undone.
So
blind receive your sight and sing His praise
He
paid your debt, be thankful all your days
Lift
grateful voices high to heaven's throne
The
Law's now in your heart not carved in stone.
~
By
the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for
through the Law comes the knowledge of sin. But now apart from
the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed
by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through
faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe.
Romans
3: 20-22
